White Shark Webcast

White sharks are remarkable animals -- apex predators that are VERY good at what they do. They're also embedded in our consciousness as the iconic scary ocean animal, thanks to Jaws and the occasional (accidental) attack on a surfer or swimmer.

On Friday, Nov. 16, we'll explore white sharks from two angles -- exhibiting one at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, and studying both adults and juveniles in the wild -- during a live webcast with audio and some very cool images. Guest experts will be the aquarium's John O'Sullivan, who led the effort that resulted in us having three young white sharks on exhibit since 2004; and Salvador Jorgensen, from Stanford University's Hopkins Marine Station, who's part of the team tagging and tracking white sharks in the wild.
