Friday's Film - Christmas Bird Count

Friday 14th December is the start of Audubon's annual Christmas Bird Count, the longest running citizen science project in the world! Last year, 58,000 people counted nearly 70-million birds in the U.S.

Want to get involved? You can help scientists, just by watching the birds in your neighborhood and on your holiday walks this month. Then go to the website to record your sightings.

The 108th Christmas Bird Count runs from December 14th to January 5th.

To get you in the mood, and to practice your bird identification skills, here's a short video filmed earlier in December at Sepulveda Wildlife Preserve, Southern California.
