Friday's Film: Humboldt Squid

Today's featured film proves that you don't have to use animation and special effects to create amazing marine life. The oceans are full of mysterious beings, whose lives we little comprehend.

This cool video from KQED QUEST documents encounters with an animal that fishermen call "red devils". These squid have a fearsome reputation, and when you see the size of their beak, you'll understand why!

If you enjoyed Wednesday's blog featuring the BBC's flying penguins, you might also enjoy "the making of".
