Herbie Hippocampus the Aquarium's most famous seahorse celebrates the holidays with all his Facebook friends. Thanks to everyone who participated in the daily sing-a-long. Don't forget to download these songs from c-Tunes!
Brine shrimp roasting on an open fire,
Small crabs nipping at your nose.
Yuletide carols being sung by sardines,
And sharks dressed up like escargot.
Everybody knows,
A sea star and some giant kelp,
Help to make the seafloor bright.
Bioluminescent jellies
With their arms all aglow,
Can even sting their prey at night.
They know that red tide’s on its way,
Bringing lots of algae bloom along the way.
And every seahorse babe is gonna spy,
To see if flying fish really know how to fly.
And so we're bringing you this fishy tale,
From deep water den'zens large and small,
Waving flippers and fins, we share the good cheer,
Foamy whitecaps to aaaaaaaaaaall!
Floating in an Underwater Land
Seahorses sing, are you listenin’?
In the kelp, krill is glistenin’,
A beautiful sea, come sing now with me,
Floating in an underwater land.
In the tide pool we can count the limpets,
As the tidal currents ebb and flow,
Later on the humans buy their tickets,
To see the holiday Aquarium Show.
Later on, we’ll conspire, as we swim by the tide pools.
To face unafraid, the sharks and the whales,
Floating in an underwater land.
I’m dreamin’ of a brine Christmas,
Just like the ones I used to slurp.
Where the soft corals glisten,
And clown fish listen,
To see if seahorse really burp.
I’m dreaming of a brine Christmas,
With every coral that I sing.
Where the sea slugs glisten,
And whale watchers listen
To hear humpbacks as they blow.
Oh the weather outside is frightful,
But my tank is quite delightful,
Where pygmy seahorse moan,
Let me grow, let me grow, let me grow!
The party in my tank is whopping,
And we’ve plenty of brine shrimp for chopping,
The lights are turned down low,
Meet me under the mistletoe.
Then we’ll cuddle like cuttlefish,
As we slurp up our own brine dish,
Then we’ll swim to the top of the sea,
But look out for dangerous squid.
Oh the light is slowly dimming
We can’t see where we’re swimming,
The kelp is swaying to and fro,
Santa’s here, ho ho ho, ho ho ho!
Away in a mangrove, near a coral reef bed,
Herbie the seahorse poked out his cute head,
The starfish in the bright sea looked down where he peeked
And said there’s a cute one in that great coral reef.
The whales are a-calling while making their way
To warm fertile waters in Mexico’s bays
Then orcas are waiting in the canyon's deep depths
To sneak up on gray whales and <censored>.
Hark the hungry seahorse sing,
When will someone breakfast bring?
Peace to all things tame and wild,
Sharks and sea lions reconciled.
Joyful all ye brine shrimp fries,
Eat them all? I sure will try.
Sunshine to the ocean brings,
Creates fish stew for all beings.
Hark the hungry seahorse sing,
Oh when will someone breakfast bring?
Oh little town of Monterey,
World’s best aquarium.
Perched on the bay where otters play
And pelicans fly by.
Yet in the dark of the canyon,
Where vampire squid do lurk.
The brave brine shrimp do play each day,
And then do hide at night.
There’s Mae and Toola and Kit and Rosa.
There’ve been white sharks and tuna and even a mola.
But do you recall the famous species of all?
Herbie the hippocampus,
Had a very shiny nose,
And if you ever saw him,
You would even say it glows.
All of the other critters,
Were jealous of his snazzy snout,
They didn’t understand,
What the fuss was all about.
Then one foggy Monterey day,
The circus came to town.
Herbie with your nose so bright,
Won’t you be our clown tonight?
All of the other seahorse,
That used to laugh and shake their manes,
They never even realized, that
Shakin' manes was just in vane!
Herbie the Facebook seahorse,
You’ll go down in Aquarium fame!!!
